課程概述

This course meets in 計資中心110室 although the classroom is shown as 中非105.

This course is about conducting ecological studies, with emphasis on experimental design and data analysis. Statistical tests are important tools for testing ecological questions. However, designing experiments that meet assumptions of statistical tests may require careful thinking. Furthermore, it is not always possible to collect data that meet assumptions of conventional statistical models. In this course, we will discuss difficulties and problems associated with conducting ecological projects and ways to deal with the problems.

Although we do not take attendance, unannounced quizzes may be given. Missed assignments, quizzes, and exams will not be made up unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor.

If your assignment is late for one day, the maximum possible score for the assignment is 70%. If late for two days, the maximum score is 60%. If late for three days or more, 0pt will be given.

If any questions, including potential grading errors, arise for your grade on an exam, an assignment, or a quiz, submit a written request with your rationale for a regrade. Requests must be made within one week of the return of a graded material, otherwise the grade is final.

課程目標
Students can carry through ecological studies that are scientifically meaningful.
